These pictures were taken on the day I turned 19, a year ago, and this January I celebrated another Birthday. I am officially no longer a teen. Welcome to the roaring 20s. I have definitely changed inside and outside. Every time someone tells me “wow, you have changed,” I say “thank you” because you are supposed to. If you don’t change, you are stuck in one place, one spot, one moment and you are not moving forward. You are supposed to grow, you are supposed to change, find new topics of interest, discover new sides of yourself and reevaluate your goals. I really have changed, I feel like I change every year, every month, every week and every day and I am proud of that. I embrace every experience that comes my way and let it influence me in a way that would help me understand myself and the world better.

Since my birthday is in January, I chose a semi-winter outfit (I mean California winter, obviously). I am wearing one of my favorite skirts and a winter-looking sweater from Asos along with red leather booties. The place we shot at is a french creperie in Clarmont Village, CA. If you live nearby, you should definitely check out Crepes de Paris.

P.S. I put “(Late)” because I created this post in January but here I am, posting it in March. I really need to get more organized and post at least once a week. This is my resolution (as I mentioned in my previous post, you can make resolutions during any month of the year).

First of all, I’d like to apologize for not posting for such a long time, but, believe me when I say, I had my reasons. Every December is my me-time and my evaluation time. And no, I’m not one of those people who think that every year you have to start all over again and that December 31st is some kind of a point of no return, God, no. However, I think that it’s symbolical to evaluate all of your 12 months just to learn your lessons and step into a new year with a clean state of mind. I was evaluating my goals, my dreams and my actions.  I was evaluating my creative process, my aspirations and my wishes regarding my career. I was trying to understand what I really wanted and what was not as relevant as I thought it was. I was setting my priorities and my goals so that my eyes would only be on the prize.  Continue reading

“All you need is a light jacket”

After giving us a cold shoulder (literally) for the last couple of weeks, the weather decided to bless us with one more week of summer. It is currently so nice outside, “not too hot, not too cold, all you need is a light jacket.” I spent this week having some quality time with my friends, enjoying the little things and distancing myself from social media. I feel like sometimes I forget to live my actual life and take a break from the virtual world I am so involved with. Whatever you are doing, do not let it completely consume you. It is great to be passionate and involved  but during some moments I felt like it was too much. All of us need a break once in a while.

This is just my casual I-am-going-to-hang-out-with-my-friends outfit. I am in love with this jacket, I think it is one of the best things I have ever bought (and have ever scored since it was 60% off). Its embroidery is just so pretty and sophisticated and immediately gives you a breezy feeling of spring.

I received my watch as a gift from Daniel Wellington, and guess what? You can get a 15% discount, if you use my code “MESHKOVA” before January 15th. I chose it out of all the other options on the website because it is so simple and preppy but with a feminine touch.

I hope you have a great weekend!
